Sky Tavern Freestyle Team

Freestyle Team


The Freestyle team invites ski and snowboard students to experience the world of big mountain, park-specific features, and USASA North Tahoe competitions. The program starts on December 4 with 8+ weeks of dryland training at the California Building focusing on core and strength-building. Starting in December, gymnastics training will begin for 8+weeks and will focus on air awareness, strength building, and rotational awareness. Once Sky Tavern opens, students will take the skills learned in the gym onto the snow and focus heavily on the terrain park and big mountain riding. Kids will learn from AASI/ PSIA Certified Freestyle coaches how to safely hit jumps, boxes, rails, and natural features while also building camaraderie, mountain etiquette, and a stronger passion for the sport.

Sky Tavern Race Team has produced some amazing champions.

Racing is about more than the fastest down the hill, but also about becoming a great person. Racers might be described as the "Scouts" of skiing. Travel to other resorts will be necessary to compete. All Race Team students must commit to be challenged, working hard and having lots of FUN!
