Teen Ambassador Meet Up & Training
The Sky Tavern Teen Ambassador program empowers teen rippers (ages 14 - 17) with volunteer opportunities to give back to the mountain, while developing leadership and professional skills. Sky Teen Ambassadors must be expert skiers and snowboarders who can make controlled turns on all terrain and snow conditions. To continue refining their skills, Ambassadors can participate in Junior Ski and Snowboard lessons throughout the season.

What you’ll learn: check-in process, intro to equipment, mobility in the flats, glide & slide, & pick up your leveling card
Parents/Guardians must be present.
What to bring: ski & snowboard equipment, helmet, goggles or sunglasses, gloves, appropriate winter clothing (Sky Kids should not bring poles)
Sky Kid parents/guardians: if you are a supporting instructor in the Sky Kids program, you are welcome to bring your equipment too, but not required.
Returning Members (ages 4-17): Sorting + Leveling Cards
Take a lap with a certified instructor & know your level!
Check-In Times: 9:30, 10:30, or 11:30 AM
Students should check in at the level they believe best matches their ability:
Yellow: Some experience; still working on slowing down, stopping, and turning.
Green: Working on linking turns for speed control
Blue: Working on linking turns on blue terrain (parallel turns for skiers)
Black: Working on linking dynamic turns on black terrain
Important Notes:
This is not a lesson.
Instructors will select appropriate terrain to assess ability.
Most sorting will take place on the carpets to keep the process quick (10-20 minutes)
Students are encouraged to warm-up beforehand if appropriate
Students will receive their leveling card and know where to check-in on the first day of programs.
Parents/Guardians must be present if chaperoning is needed.

Teen Ambassador Meet Up/Training

Sky Teen Ambassadors must be expert skiers and snowboarders who can make controlled turns on all terrain and snow conditions. To continue refining their skills, Ambassadors can participate in Junior Ski and Snowboard lessons throughout the season.
Ambassador assignments will vary daily based on the needs of the mountain. Ambassadors can expect a commitment of 2 - 4 hours per day. Assignments include the following: chairlift assistants for smaller riders, monitoring beginner zones, assisting race, assisting instructors in Sky Tavern Learn to Ski and Snowboard Programs, assisting coaches in the race terrain, assisting freestyle coaches with park maintenance, and more!
